ENROLLMENT OPEN FOR CHOICES ACADEMY

Choices New Energy Academy is a school-within-a-school that focuses on careers in the power industry. Students have four classes a day with the same group of academy students (for example ELA 10, World History, Algebra II, and Intro to Energy) and then two non-academy classes (PE, Chemistry, Spanish, etc...)

The academy faculty (Mrs. Barrett, Mrs. Rupley, Mr. Saltzen, and Mr. Yeroshek) work closely together and get to know our students well. In the Intro to Energy class you will learn about Wind, Solar, Water and other energy sources and build solar cars and air pressure rockets. We also go on several field trips. In our locker to the left, you can see some videos from last year.

California Students to Receive Education in "Green Energy"

CDE and PGE Help Make Students Career and College Ready

SAN FRANCISCO — The California Department of Education (CDE) and Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PGE) are laying the groundwork for a new "green energy" academy pilot program. The New Energy Academy, launched today, is designed to provide energy career education for students who might otherwise not have the opportunity. CaliforniaALL (CalALL), a non-profit committed to enhancing the success of California's students, has also supported development of the Academy.
